Textiles handpainted and embroidered mounted on stretched canvas

As with my original wallhangings, I paint a scene on cotton with colourfast fabric painting dyes as a backdrop for the embroidery. After heat setting and washing to ensure that colours are fixed, I add grasses, flowers and sometimes webs using free motion embroidery and/or ribbonwork. I then either mount the finished piece on acid free board and add a frame or I have stretched and wrapped the finished work around a canvas frame. Because the edges of the canvas are covered with the painted fabric no framing is required - but they do look even better with a frame. TAX FREE
